 | Post date: 2022/09/4 |
Researchers at the Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) have found a new method that decreases mining exploration costs by 80 percent. This project was conducted by Dr. Adel Shirazi, a post-doc who said that this method decreases the exploration costs considerably. He also said that the traditional methods are updated with artificial intelligence in this project. Moreover, a software was written based on this method in Geophysics, and its article has already been published.
The outcomes of this project are: six ISI articles, seven international articles, one international conference paper, and two domestic conference papers. Also, a book was published with the title “Advanced Integrated Methods in Mineral Exploration: Applied Geochemistry, Geophysics, and Remote Sensing”. It is published in English and 6 European languages: German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian.
During this project, Adel Shirazi received the award for the best Ph.D. thesis in the country in the field of mining engineering of mineral exploration. This title was given to him by the Economic Geology Society of Iran.
Professor Ardeshir Hazarkhani, faculty member of Amirkabir University of Technology, was the PI of this project. Aref Shirazi, an AUT Ph.D. student in mining engineering shared the responsibility of executing this research.
